The Israeli army announced that it and the Shin Bet “eliminated a prominent official in the Hamas financing system in Lebanon.”
Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee said on the “X” platform: “Earlier this week, the Israeli army attacked Lebanon under the guidance of the Shin Bet and eliminated the so-called Walid Muhammad Deeb, a prominent official in the Hamas organization’s financing system who was working to finance the organization’s military activities in Lebanon.”
He added: “As part of his duties, Deeb was responsible for transferring funds to various sections of the Hamas organization in Judea, Samaria, Lebanon, and other countries. He was also responsible for recruiting members and directing activities from Syria and Lebanon. The operation to eliminate him comes as part of a series of strikes that targeted the organizations’ funding sources since the beginning of Operation Lion’s Roar.”
He concluded: "We and the Shin Bet will continue to work forcefully against organizations in Lebanon and will not allow the citizens of Israel to be harmed."
